Lightfall, Destiny 2’s newest expansion has been out for a little while now with players now acquainted with the new content. However, Season 21 has shaken things up and introduced a fresh meta. Here are the best PvE weapons in Destiny 2: Lightfall for the Season of the Deep

Destiny 2 is a game that’s at its best when you have a great build, using a weapon you care about. The satisfying gunplay makes defending the galaxy against various forms of bad guys feel like one of the most satisfying feats in all of gaming.

However, while you can have great success with most, not all guns are made equal. With randomized perks and different archetypes, there are definitely guns that stand out above the rest. The PvE meta comes out of those particularly strong options, and if you want the best DPS you will want to use the strongest guns.

10. Commemoration

Effectively a budget Thunderlord, the Commemoration is a well-rounded pick for the Heavy slot that works in most situations. It even gets access to Killy Tally, an incredible trait that gives this LMG some of the best ad clear of any gun in Destiny 2.

9. Gjallarhorn

If your team is going to use rocket launchers, one of you needs to be using the Gjallarhorn. This Exotic launcher fires cluster missiles that deal incredible damage and are perfect for ad clear. Even better, its unique trait lets it grant this ability to teammates using non-Exotic rocket launchers.

8. IKELOS SMG v.1.0.3

Ever since SMGs rose to prominence the IKELOS has remained one of the strongest PvE weapons in Destiny 2. It has an aggressive frame for high damage and access to a nasty combination of Feeding Frenzy and Voltshot. Even better, it’s craftable and a great option to use your Deepsight Harmonizers on.

7. Acasia’s Dejection

Trace Rifles are quite rare with Bungie not releasing too many new ones. However, the Root of Nightmares Raid introduced Acasia’s Dejection which is arguably the best Legendary Trace Rifle in Destiny 2. Either Reconstruction or Rewind Rounds alongside Incandescent or Target Lock make this a great choice.

6. Riptide

The Riptide makes an unsurprising appearance on this list with it still being the best non-Exotic utility weapon. This fusion rifle gets access to Chill Clip which is wonderful for freezing and stunning champions. Plus its synergy with Stasis builds and solid damage make it a solid all-purpose weapon too.

5. Rufus’s Fury

Rufus’s Fury is a Legendary Auto Rifle and arguably the best Strand weapon in Destiny 2. Its wonderful Rapid-Fire Frame and access to top tier traits like Demolitionist and Hatchling make it a fantastic choice. Plus it even offers utility as Auto Rifles get access to anti-barrier rounds thanks to Season 21’s artifact.

4. Thunderlord

The Thunderlord continues to be a popular choice in the Destiny 2 PvE meta thanks to its constantly reloading magazine and impressive Arc damage. It offers both spectacular ad clear and great raw damage that is easy to use. Just aim at the target, hold fire, and watch the magic happen.

3. The Other Half

Damage-wise The Other Half is nothing special and not even one of the better swords to use. However, the Eagar Edge trait is incredible for mobility making this a top-tier utility weapon for speedrunning content and moving around quickly.

2. Witherhoard

Witherhoard has long since established itself as the premier Exotic weapon to use when your build isn’t reliant on a specific weapon. It offers AOE damage, overtime single target damage, has access to Auto-loading Holster via its catalyst and is viable in basically every situation.

1. Forbearance

Chain Reaction for incredible ad clear? Check. Ambitious Assasin for a huge magazine and spam potential? Check. Fantastic stats across the board and the ability to be crafted? You know it. Since its release the Forbearance has been the best Legendary grenade launcher in Destiny 2 and that remains true to this day.
